Paideia reached the second round of the state tournament in dramatic fashion, as they overcame a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to win, 49-45, at Bowdon according to Paideia coach JoJo Cadray.

Sophomore point guard Keenan Palmore led the team in scoring with 30 points, though he scored 16 in the third quarter to help fuel the Pythons comeback. Much of the reason for Paideia's turnaround at Bowdown was due to a stellar defensive effort. Palmore and his teammates combined for 10 steals in the game, and Palmore had five.

Brandon Pennington added three steals to go along with eleven points - the team's second highest leading scorer.

"We were able to come back because of great defensive pressure and steals by a cast of players," Cadray said.

Star player Nigel Snipes was held in check with six points and seven rebounds, as the Bowdon defenders focused on him for much of the night.

"[Bowdon] did a great job keeping [Snipes] under control, but I thought he did a good job on the boards," Cadray said.

Paideia will travel to Whitefield Academy Tuesday after they defeated Social Circle, 78-39, Friday.
