This season we look to embark upon a journey that brings as much success as past seasons and perhaps even more!
It appears that we will play ten of our first eleven games on the road or a neutral location. We have loaded our schedule with larger classification schools to prepare for our region and also to give our program more exposure. Perhaps, the most exciting addition to our schedule this season is our participation in the 4th Annual Memphis vs. Atlanta Classic. The reputation of this tournament has grown in a very short period of time. Previous tournaments have included the very best teams and players from the Memphis and Atlanta area. This year is no different, with top programs such as our own, Westlake, and Southwest Dekalb.
We will look to repeat as Westminster Holiday Tournament Champions during the late December Holiday break, where we open up against 5A Alpharetta High School. We have won two of the last four tournaments at Westminster, despite playing mostly larger classification schools. This tournament has also included some of the top players in the southeast in the past. Both Plumlee brothers, playing for Duke currently, were a part of the tournament 4 years ago. The tournament has drawn college scouts regularly and has earned the title as the top private school based holiday tournament in Atlanta.
Finally, we will kick off region play in early 2012 against W.D. Mohammed. Our region will feature two new schools in Hapeville Charter and Tech Charter. The first round of the region playoffs will be played at Paideia beginning February 14, 2012.
